Creating a Delightful Website User Experience
The Head of School at one of our independent school partners recently asked what prospective parents must feel while navigating the admissions process on the website. "Is it delightful?”
The word “delightful” stuck out. Has anyone ever described reading a tuition page as delightful? Is it even possible for an admissions process page to be a delight?
We started by reviewing website analytics to better understand the page paths that parents took, and there were three areas in particular that traffic tended to gravitate towards: tuition, visit, and admissions process.
We then dug into these areas to help us understand: who is visiting these pages? What do they want? What do they need? What are their pain points? How can we help them?
When examining how other independent schools convey their cost and admissions information, we found very few that could be considered helpful, and none that were delightful.
This is a major area of opportunity for independent schools, one that can help your prospective parents while impacting your bottom line.
